Holidays

Hi everyone, hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I can't wait to see what the new year brings hopefully something better than last year. I will have to say it wasn't all bad for me this past year, I just would like to move on from all this.

Well I'm done with the AC part of the chemotherapy and I will have to say it kicked my butt. I felt very sick and zofran helped a little but pushing fluids helped most of all if you could stand to drink them. everything taste so bad like metal tap water, yuck! I gained like 15 pounds because all I did was eat to coat my stomach, but I guess its better than loosing per doctors.

Now that I'm on Taxiol, I feel a little under the weather but I am not sick and can eat and drink like normal. My WBC counts are dropping but I have the nupagine shots to boost me back up. I am also able to workout now too, but it feels funny with the spacers though!

Reconstruction wise I have 40cc to go and get to meet with Dr. C to go over the next step. I'm stopping at 450cc. Have I said I can't wait to be done with all this! I haven't decided if I'm posting progress pictures or not. we will see when its all said and done.

Well, wish me luck besides all the bills coming and going I'm doing great. I'm on the back stretch! "I have a lot of living to do next year, so hurry up and go away cancer, aint nobody got time for that!"

Happy New Year!!

Round Two Of Chemo

Well, I kept my hair until the 2nd round of chemo, but by the weekend it was out. I think loosing my hair was harder to take than receiving the news that I had cancer! But hey it's just hair right? I'll try to keep my head up besides I have a nice cranium! hahaha. So, the 2nd round of chemo was a lot better than the first I opted out of some of the drugs and was able to drink more water to flush my system faster. My spacers are coming along just fine I'm half way there so i will have plenty of time to heal before the next surgery. My blood counts are starting to drop but all is well I'm back to work until the next round. I'm just thankful for all the great people in my life,  you all get me through when I need it the most, you know who you are! :)

On another note:
I made it to  the Breast Cancer Walk at UCF! Thank you for everyone's support, especially my PIC family that put it all together. And thank you to all that donated, again there are no words to say that shows how thankful I am!

Sincerely,
Heather Tatro

I started chemo yesterday and all went well besides wasting a half day in that place. I just came home and slept thru the  night. I just feel like I have the flu and am sick off birth control pills?!. Today I went back for a bone marrow booster and some fluids. so next round Nov 1st hopefully i get to keep my hair til then

On another note I wanted to think Mrs. Roseland and trish for putting on such a nice brunch in honor  of my name. everyone was so nice and I can't think you enough!

Also my dearest friend lily took it upon herself to get everyone to donate to wear jeans today in order to help paint the town pink!

Thanks everyone for your support!
Sincerely,
Heather

Pathology Report Back:

Ok everyone time to celebrate!
No Lymph Nodes were affected with cancer. The cancer was considered stage 2 because of the size, which measured 2.3 cm in the right breast. this means no radiation but I will still have to do chemo.
Chemo regimen  starts Oct. 18th and goes through Feb. 28th. I still have a long road a head but thank the lord it did not spread!
I'm feeling great, My drain tubes are out and besides the blood clot in my arm around the port for chemo I'm back to work until the 18th!
I will be on blood thinners until I'm done with the port so the clot doesn't get worse :(

Happy Friday!!

Please join us in the fight against breast cancer! My friends and family are walking in my honor at the The Komen Central Florida Race for the Cure® October 21, 2012 in the Bright House Networks Stadium at the University of Central Florida. Normally the contributions would be given to the foundation, however; as I am currently seeking treatment and undergoing Chemo the group has decided to collect the funds and donate to me personally to help, so no registration needed. Please help support this great cause!

Post Surgery Update:
Hi there, I'm a week post surgery today! I still have my tubes in but I am home and trying to move around the best I can. I can't wait to get back to work, there is only so much my butt can take on this couch! I am so thankful for my friends and family, they are keeping my spirits high and my belly full haha.
I go to the plastic surgeon once a week to get my spacers filled, and the pathology report should be back soon to tell if it spread into my lymph nodes. Chemo will follow in a few weeks, which I'm not looking forward too. Thanks again everyone for your support, there is no way I could be this strong with out each and everyone of you.
Sincerely,
Heather

09-14-12

Hi everyone thanks for viewing,

If you haven't already heard I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma a few weeks ago, which is an aggressive form of breast cancer. Right now we do not know the stage but I will be having a double mastectomy. Shortly there after I will be starting  chemotherapy.  I wanted a place where I could keep in contact with everyone on my prognosis and on my road to recovery. Also, I wanted a place to inform you on updates of the benefits my family and friends are putting together in honor of me and my fight against breast cancer.

Thanks for viewing and please continue to follow for updates and feel free to post your thoughts,  love, and  prayers.

Sincerely,
Heather
